They didn't give us a rate, but the perm salary is 160-180K.  Top Secret clearance required so I think that means citizens only.
Job Description: In this role you will work directly with client's most strategic customers on critical projects to help them transform their business, specifically using Big Data services. You will provide management, consulting and technical expertise to customer engagements while working with client executives and key technical leaders to deploy solutions in cloud and hybrid environments. We expect that you will be a trusted advisor to our clients, a subject matter expert on cloud and big data, and help our customers get as much value out of cloud technologies as possible. You will also work closely with our key partners such as AWS, Microsoft, and Google to strengthen strategic competencies and qualifications.
You possess a diverse background with cloud solutions in areas such as architecture design, infrastructure migration, and deployment strategies. To be successful, you know how to navigate ambiguity, have extensive experience working with cloud technologies, have technical depth and enjoy working with client executives. You also possess excellent communication and project management skills. Automation, orchestration, and DevOps frameworks are integral to how you conceive of and deliver solutions.
Required Skills
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience designing and deploying large scale distributed data processing systems with direct, hands-on, day-to-day experience with one or more technologies to include:
    • o Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Flume, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, CouchDB, Redshift, BigQuery, HDInsight, EMR, Dataproc, Beam, Impala, Presto
  • 8 years of experience writing software or scripts in one of the following programming languages:
    • C#, Java, Javascript, Python, PowerShell, C++, Scala
  • Understand data encoding and serialization techniques including the use of Protobuf, Thrift, Avro, Parquet, and ORC
  • Experience with Big Data and Platform/Infrastructure-as-a-Service (PaaS/IaaS) technologies.
  • Experience in data and Information Lifecycle Management - especially as it relates to Big Data; hands-on experience using and/or managing large databases.
  • Experience with Data Warehousing, batch or real-time event processing and ETL workflows solutions which could include architecture, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
  • Effective presentation skills, and the ability to independently meet with clients. Superior communications skills in both verbal and written form are a must.
  • Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to clients.
Desired Skills
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification, Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, and Microsoft MCSD Azure.
  • Experience deploying Big Data solutions with Docker and ECR, EKS, or Kubernetes.
  • Ability to explain and demystify relevant techniques to those who are new to Big Data, with the ability to advise customers on making tradeoffs.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
  • Primarily, act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and solve complex Big Data challenges.
  • Secondly, serve as a cloud solutions architect, building architectures and cloud solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Lead the Big Data practice within the company, generating process, techniques, frameworks, and best practices for building and delivering these solutions to customers.
  • Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders.
  • Design and implement reliable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud infrastructures and solutions.
  • Design, implement, operate, and maintain big data systems to support client requirements.
  • Find new opportunities in existing client work to implement big data solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Provide pre-sales technical engineering support.
  • Provide training and thought leadership to the entire cloud team to expand our Big Data capabilities.
