SAS Developer / Programmer
Primary Responsibilities: Documentation – Reverse engineer the code/process and document it in a specific format (Data Dictionary/Source to Target Mapping document). Skill Set: 1. Through understanding of deciphering SAS Codes, SQL (PL/SQL), ETL like Process (Extract from different sources like Flat files, Teradata – transform to created derived field and provisioning with controls) 2. Strong knowledge of SQL 3. Able to write SAS codes on SAS EG & SAS Unix environment & most importantly understand other (previously written) SAS codes 4. Experience working with documentation of process, activities & tasks. • Individual will perform a broad range of data processing and analysis to support the project activities
• Individual should be able to :
o Translate requirements into SAS code
o Develop process to gather data from multiple sources; assemble it into one single piece
o Develop test cases, use them to validate the process
o Create SAS codes in Windows SAS environment (Base SAS, SAS EG)
o Carry out the data analysis; communicate the results verbally and in a deck to a technical and non-technical audience
• Have experience using SAS for data reporting purposes.
• The consultant also needs to have experience working in both a windows and UNIX environment, along with solid SQL querying skills.
• Develop and improve existing reports and data interfaces using SAS. Convert existing SAS code into high quality SAS code that is efficient (fast), automated, maintainable, and follows industry best practices. 4+ years of SAS experience developing, maintaining, and administering SAS programming solutions.
• Must be knowledgeable of best practices using SAS (Enterprise Guide, SAS DI studio). Strong PL/SQL, ORACLE, TERADATA experience. Experience with troubleshooting, and automation of SAS jobs and code. Will be responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of applications to satisfy the requirements of one or more user areas.
