Position summary:
The position holds responsibility to execute day-to-day support and maintenance, and non-routine activities including new deployments for assigned applications. The primary focus of responsibilities will be for financial applications including Oracle's Hyperion EPM. The scope of responsibilities spans all activities in the service lifecycle from conception to retirement for applications that provide services to the identified business functions. This includes work that is executed through projects, releases, support, and on-going management activities.
Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)
  • Make achievable commitments that are aligned with resource, budget, and time constraints; manage execution to deliver on commitments
  • Responsible for overall technical implementation and support of Hyperion products and other assigned financial applications.
  • Maintain knowledge of Hyperion EPM Roadmap and related products.
  • Responsible for maintaining a highly-functioning and stable application across all environments.
  • Execute responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Execute on special projects as assigned by manager.
  • Maintain records of open requests and issues in tracking systems and resolve within defined SLAs.
  • Routinely report on service metrics to all relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for ensuring application stability and functionality, including all environments: development, QA, and production.
  • Follow IT change control procedures when implementing changes
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
Education & special trainings:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • ITIL Foundations certification preferred
Qualifications & experience:
  • Minimum of 6 years' relevant work experience in an IS/IT environment.
  • 4+ years of experience with Hyperion EPM suite of products (v 11.1.2.4) including HFM, Planning, FDMEE, Essbase, ODI, and Smart View).
  • Expert knowledge in environment infrastructure, Hyperion installations and upgrades, configurations, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolutions
  • Demonstrated ability to configure, monitor (performance, usage, errors, trends, etc.), performance tune, and troubleshoot Hyperion environments
  • Strong knowledge of Hyperion EPM tool architecture and multi-tiered/clustered applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with MDX & MaxL scripting.
  • Ability to write scripts on-demand for special requirements such as in audits and LCM retention.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of tuning ASO and BSO cubes
  • Experience with load balancing and clustering EPM products (Foundation, Planning, ...)
  • Experience in patching the EPM environments.
  • Experience in cloning, migration, backup and recovery with EPM related products.
  • Experience in automating FDMEE, HFM or Planning products to improve end user experience.
  • Experience in Troubleshooting with FDMEE and ODI.
  • Managing user Security – Provisioning/Creating/Deleting Users, assigning access.
  • Experience in Hyperion related monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL a must to troubleshoot issues with the EPM databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute system lifecycle best practices including patching strategies, software life cycle management, disaster recovery, automation of routine activities, and change management.
