The Opportunity: Scrum Master
Scrum Master plays an important role in product success, and effective agile adoption. We are seeking experienced leaders to serve internal project teams. Ideal candidates can demonstrate the following qualifications:
The Scrum Master will be expected to schedule, guide, and improve ceremonies and coach role members on the execution and leadership of their duties according to Scrum guidelines. In addition, the Scrum Master will assist the Agile Coach and leadership team in devising standards across teams, (including reporting and communications), building a plan and resources for large-scale adoption, showcasing the Scrum Team's work within the organization and possibly beyond, managing agile interactions with vendors and internal partners where necessary, and moving the Agile Organization to greater maturity and effectiveness. The Scrum Master also works with the established PMO, managing budgets, timelines and issues, and ensuring all standards and requirements are met. Of greatest importance is an ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate to provide exceptional service and value to our internal clients and team members.
  • 5 Years of experience as a Professional Scrum Master, preferably in large enterprise environments.
  • Deep Understanding of, and experience applying/adapting, the Scrum Framework and associated 3-5-3 (Roles, Ceremonies, Artefacts)
  • Ability to build trust and effective relationships with Product Owners, Analysts and Stakeholders to identify objectives, measures of success, sprint plans, and backlog items (epics, stories)
  • Effectiveness in coaching owners and stakeholders in proper backlog management and the entire team in Story composition, breakdown and estimation
  • Exceptional communication, training, and influence skills
  • Ability to help teams find and fix their own issues/gaps
  • Reporting and Communication competence at management/executive level
  • Experience creating self-service models of reporting using Visible Work concepts and available tools (JIRA, Asana, Google G-Suite and others).
  • Assisting a Center Of Excellence in building best practices
  • Ability to navigate the transition between waterfall and agile from a cultural and process perspective
  • Experience with Lean, Kanban also an asset
  • Passion for ongoing learning and development for themselves and for others
  • Demonstrable resilience in resolving blockers and handling issues
