Working in, and with the support of, the Design & Qualification Team, this position participates
in, reviews and completes technical projects in response to customers' needs for
solutions to their sealing and non-sealing applications. The position provides technical
assistance in responding to customer inquiries and research & development project needs
and is responsible for the completion & review of component design drawings. They will also
provide support to sales, manufacturing, procurement and quality areas consistent with
principles of concurrent engineering.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • 3D Modeling and Drawings: Creates Catia 3D CAD models for seal, collates and presents technical data to support design proposals and fully details component
drawings for approval submission. Supports qualification
program by creating fixture, fixture views and drawings
for procedures.
  • Schedule and Quality: Completes own design projects as allocated and prioritized by engineering management,
thereby providing cost effective solutions to meet customer's needs, in a timely manner and in compliance with specific and general industry standards.
  • Ownership: Through all stages of design to validation, takes ownership for product
design activities in co-operation with Project Engineer.
  • Seal Design Knowledge: Develops and maintains technical and commercial awareness, within the specific markets supported by Customers, resulting in strong knowledge of all system solution and seal configuration designs and materials, and the limitations of each for all Polymer and Composite products as they relate to product liability.
  • Data Management: Ensures all data within owned project files, is recorded, maintained and managed, provides guidance of department procedures to level 1 Engineers, communicating 'lessons learned' with other team members on issues to include product design improvements.
  • Team Player: Fulfills the role of effective "team player” performing drawing review activity for other team members. supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge and
undertaking other duties / tasks, appropriate to function
(which includes the role of mentor to 'new starters'), at
the discretion of line management, to the benefit of the
department and the company.
  • Design Process: Adheres to the 02DM001 and supporting processes and procedures ECMs: If assigned project, submits data and important information to customer via
engineering co-ordination memorandums.
Performs other duties as assigned
