Job Description:

Currently we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong Mainframe background – COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, REXX, CICS Web services to support applications for a Major Insurance client. Applications have web based front end supported by CICS backend services and 600+ Mainframe batch jobs. Should be technically strong in COBOL, IMS DB and DB2 to analyze programs and be able to bring in process improvements to streamline work. Should have an understanding of Support Critical Service levels (CSL), Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and resolve both online and batch failures within agreed service levels. PAT - Dover, NH

Roles and Responsibilities:

§ Monitor availability of the applications, work with other support teams in case of exceptions and resolve the incidents
§ Participate in identifying problems, perform root cause analysis and contribute to knowledge base
§ Take ownership of incident tickets including any customer communication and handle queries / clarifications from the customer
§ Handle Standard and Adhoc requests, operational changes and functional enhancements
§ Identify process improvements that will stabilize both online and batch processes in applications
§ Provide daily status updates on tasks assigned to the Sr. Service Analyst / Service Lead - ensure incidents, Service requests, Operational change requests and enhancements are handled within the agreed service levels
§ Should be flexible to coordinate work with offshore team.
§ Responsible for coordination with other support groups (such as infrastructure, product vendor etc.) - Comply with defined process during task execution (including problem management, KEDB management etc.)
§ Participate in activities like Release acceptance and Application Continuity Support
§ Participate actively during Knowledge transition (KT sessions), Complete mandatory training for self as identified in the training plan for the project
§ Act as a buddy for new hires, when assigned by supervisor

§ Strong Technical Mainframe skills. Good Analytical and communication skills
§ Flexible to provide on-call support during off hours and weekends
§ Good understanding of Insurance business is preferred
§ Prior experience on Mainframe development projects is preferred
§ Willing to learn new skills on demand to help support projects
