Role Sr Business Analyst with airline domain experience
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration with seven (7) or more years of IT and/or business experience, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
• Should have more than 7 years of business analysis experience.
• Should be able to mentor other BA's on the process and best practices for conducting requirements elicitation
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate business functionality and opportunities into clear, precise and easy-to-read functional specifications critical
• Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how IT needs to support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals.

• Previous rich airline experience, in reservations is mandatory
BA should have working knowledge of Agile and worked with Product Manager closely on designing functional solutions.

Roles and responsibility The role of the Business Analyst is to support and enable change. The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting requirements from business owners for projects and then performing the necessary analysis and documentation to ensure the changes are made. This Business Analyst will work closely with business leads as well as technical teams for development, testing, and architecture in the course of delivering the changes needed by the business.
- Understand, document and prioritize high level business requirements
- Convert high level business requirements into executable, detailed user stories to enable development
- Create visual models (wireframes, Business Process Models)
- Become and remain knowledgeable on key business processes and systems and how they operate/integrate
- Manage the relationship between IT and key stakeholders and management teams including subsidiaries leadership, meeting on a regular basis and identifying all business initiatives and future projects
- Proactively identify opportunities to leverage technical solutions and emerging technologies to facilitate business solutions
- Provide expertise and advice to business unit owners, IT leaders, project teams, and other support teams
- Identify gaps in the application functionality and work with the technical team to provide solutions
- Provide efficient project processes and deliverables to shorten the project life cycle, where applicable
- Work with application support and development teams to fix software bugs and escalate issues

The Senior Ops Data Analyst is responsible for conceptualizing and creating decision support tools to be integrated to the enterprise data ecosystem. The tool would be used for operational activity replay, what-if simulation etc.  


Responsibilities In This Role

·        Understand the business process, and ability to re-create and identify opportunities through enterprise data.
·        Acting as an Advanced Analytics consultant to identify opportunities using "Big Data" and assisting in executing related action plans
·        Data extraction, discovery, and transformation from multiple and complex, as well as non-traditional data sources to develop analytical datasets to support statistical modeling
·        Designing and Measuring Experiments/Tests in various functional areas to prove/disprove hypotheses and come up with actionable recommendations
·        Development of complex predictive models utilizing machine learning (i. e., ensemble methods, k-means clustering, random forests, etc.) and text analytics
·        Identifying signals/events impacting customer behavior and deliver actionable customer insights to respective stakeholders
·        Validation of model performance, quality, and reliability over time using best practices
·        Preparation of documentation and presentation of advanced analytics work to leadership and other stakeholders
·        Building/fostering good working relationships with internal customers
·        Bachelor's in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline is required
·        Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Econometrics, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
·        At least 1 year of experience in predictive modeling, using machine learning algorithms and utilizing large and complex structured and unstructured data.
·        Demonstrated experience using methods such as logistic regression, clustering, neural networks, GBM, classification, regression, decision trees, random forests, etc.
·        Proven ability to independently develop, test, and validate statistical models
·        Strong programming skills in SAS, R, Python
·        Hands-on experience with SQL using Teradata and other databases including NoSql
·        Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
·        Solid time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
·        Ability to own and complete assignments working around impediments and simultaneously handle multiple projects in a fast-paced and changing environment
