Description

The Systems Integration Engineer is expected to be an expert in the development of integrating systems for a Distributed Control Architecture (DCA). The DCA consists of a data integration bus, Distribution Management System (DMS), an IEEE 2030.5 application server, and other integrated information and control systems. The IEEE 2030.5. The Engineer will review and understand requirements of the project and provide support for:
  • Integration and facilitation of multiple systems in a DCA
  • Develop scripts to integrate the multiple systems of the DCA with the Data Integration Bus
  • Review, understand, and design the evolving and maturing DCA
  • Perform and test system integrations
  • Provide industry insight, best practices, and knowledge of typical utility business processes and system integration

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or relevant technical field and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Client Predix Utility Integration Bus (UIB)
  • Strong technical understanding of DMS, DNP3, IEEE 2030.5, Predix, headend systems, Field Area Networks (FAN), Cisco Fog Director, Databases, API integration and development, firmware management, and related systems
  • Understanding of utility industry security standards and zones
  • Understanding of Distributed Energy Resources (DER), such as, Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Understanding of DER aggregation and CAISO services

Preferred
  • Master Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Power Systems, or relevant technical field and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Understanding of demonstration project life cycle
  • Experience working with regulatory entities: Department of Energy (DoE), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and/or California Energy Commission (CEC)
