Technical Project Manager Technical Project Manager 1 Technical Attributes (7-10 years experience):
• Understanding of IT environments to include telecommunications, network, data centers and related technology applications
• Full understanding of Databases, Middleware Systems, Operating Systems, Replication, Storage, Mainframe
• Able to develop programs and framework required for design of metrics, analytical tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting for the identification of best practices
• Able to manage migrations of large complex data center eco systems
• Able to articulate the project lifecycle for DC migrations
• Full understanding of E2E delivery of the service: desktop – telephony – network – presentation – business logic – orchestration – DB – backend data store and vertical technical depth in 1-2 areas
• Exposure to ITIL (Incident / Change Management) - ITIL v3F preferred
Interpersonal/Project Management Skill Attributes (7-10 years experience):
• Strong people skills (stakeholder management skills to build and foster internal relationships)
• Effective Communicator reporting accurate information that is clear, concise and visual (requiring good oral and written communication skills)
• Works well in ambiguity and drives participants toward clarity of tasks and deliverables
• Anticipates potential threats (risks) to project prior to becoming an issue and pursues mitigation
• Analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience following structured communication plans with audience specific standards
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project
• Proven track record of delivery of multiple parallel initiatives
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams (team player)
Responsibilities:
• Driving technicians in the Execution and Delivery of IT Strategic Initiatives
• Project management of detailed and cross-functional dependencies in work effort (i.e. internal and external dependencies, non-assigned resources, follow-up, tracking issues/ risks, Path to Green, managing to the critical path/milestones/schedule, etc.)
• Analyzing detailed data supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives
• Communicating updates and next steps
• An element of DC Cluster design
Must be fluent in MS Office Products:
• Strong Microsoft Project Skills: Project schedule building/editing with multiple dependencies/schedule shifting
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Pivot Tables, vertical and horizontal look ups, 'what if' scenario analysis
• Strong PowerPoint and Visio skills. Visual representation of data in charts and graphs
