Quote Support Specialists

Duties:
  • Account executives are expected to create the majority of their customer facing quotes. The Quote Support Specialists function is designed as an overflow and 2nd level quoting function for situations when account executives are unable to perform their own quoting. The reasons why an AE may not be able to create quotes in certain circumstances include system functionality, quote complexity, traveling/out of office, knowledge/training, and exceptional high volume.
  • Position will handle administrative tasks for account executives and sales representatives related to entering quote information. In some instances, the Quote Support Specialist will enter technical requirements and configuration of an order in the system (working with Sales Engineers for the information). The job is a key partner for both Sales Account Executives and Sales Engineers. It may require sales related activities for complex customer accounts. The key responsibility is shepherding all quotes to booking and thus, generating revenue for Equinix. When applicable, job may also require working with or supporting Customer Service Managers to support them on revenue related activities.
  • Activities include:
  • Monitor/manage quote request queues
  • Validate quoting info provided by AE for non-standard quotes. Follow up directly with AE on any clarifications or additional info required to accurately generate quote
  • Accurate and timely creation of all assigned quote requests. This applies to both initial quotes and revisions to existing quotes.
  • Ensure any/all non-system-managed approvals are properly maintained before quotes or other legal documents are released to customers.
  • Where applicable:
  • Work on quote revisions, review T&Cs, validate discounting errors, and collect missing info/documents
  • Manage, route, track all Sales documents, including Non-Disclosure Agreements, LOI, MOU, Quotes, Master Service Agreements, and customer profile forms
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of departments within Equinix and function well within a team
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time and in addition to the above.
  • Reporting on sales activities as and when required e.g. pipeline maintenance & trending, preparing data for sales forecasts, etc.
  • Ensure all orders are SOX compliant

  • Expertise in MS Word, Excel (including Excel pivot tables), PowerPoint required

Education
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, preferably in computer-related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in a sales support role is preferred
  • Oracle, Siebel, Salesforce.com knowledge/experience is a plus

Experience in sales support and background in customer support are desirable
