Job Description:
This position is for an Engineering Technician in the Client Design Engineering group. The candidate will work with Design Engineers to assist in the design/support of Client RF products and is responsible for the following:
  • Responsible for conducting engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data to assist in the development of Client RF products.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data
  • Assist in the interpretation of test data
  • Construct with and without explicit documentation engineering fixtures and test cables
  • Work closely with Design Engineering team to support testing and modifying of radios and amplifiers
  • Support product modifications including but not limited to soldering parts on boards, assembling and Client-assembling radios and amplifiers
  • Performs engineering tests, detailed experimental testing or operational test and fault isolation on Client RF products
  • Proficient with the troubleshooting of RF, analog and digital circuits from unit level down to the component level

Qualifications:
  • 2 years post-secondary/AA-AS degree in Electronics plus 2+ years' experience
  • 7+ years of experience or more in electronics with a concentration in troubleshooting and test

Preferred Skills:
  • Candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot products at both unit and component levels
  • Ability to generate and analyze test data to determine areas that need improvement and to track progress
  • Strong working knowledge of Analog and Digital test equipment; such as Spectrum and Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and Signal Generators
  • Strong communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Working knowledge of electronic components
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW
  • Working knowledge of RF
