Educational Requirements BS or BA
Required Certifications Any Security Certification (GIAC Security Essentials Certification CompTIA Security+, Security Certified Network Professional, Systems Security Certified Practitioner) and  Oracle Certified Professional
Letter of Intent Required Yes
Clearance Level Secret
Required/Must have Skills/Experience:
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant IT experience supporting large databases
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Experience in providing all activities related to the administration of complex enterprise level databases
  • Experience in projecting long-range requirements for database administration and designing in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function 
  • Experience in designing creating and maintaining databases in a client/server environment
  • Experience in conducting quality control and databases audits in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data
  • Experience in advising users on access to various client/server databases
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
  • Experience in developing and implementing new databases in collaboration with client staff
  • Experience in executing database upgrades, backups and restoration in collaboration with System administrators and client staff
  • Experience collaborating in the development and deployment of pilot/test programs
  • Experience and Knowledge with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL)
  • Experience in Performing database programming and supporting systems design.
  • Experience in maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
  • Prior experience in/ability to perform the following tasks:
  • Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back up, and recovery specifications
  • Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.
  • Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Prior experience in DoD/DLA
  • Ability to identify, tune, and optimize problematic queries and stored procedures in production
  • Experience in evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems
Familiarity with Technologies/Tools:
  • Oracle Database Management Systems MySQL, SQL, PL/SQL, SAP
