Duties: Responsibilities
  • Works closely with the Inside Sales organization to earn new business and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Provides technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings, trade shows, and other forums, including leading detailed technical data center tours.
  • Responsible for actively driving and developing colocation and interconnection solutions during the pre-sales phase of the sales cycle.
  • Articulates technical benefits of platform Equinix (global, network dense/neutral, reliable, ecosystems) to all levels of an organization (e.g. technician, engineer, CIO, etc.).
  • Assists sales team on technical responses to RFI/P/Q and ITT (ITT = Invitation to tender)
  • Develops customized infrastructure solutions (e.g. pre-wire cabling, rack & stack, fiber raceway, in row cooling, etc.).
  • Responsible for pulling together/assembling pre-installation requirements of products/services (e.g. private cages, network)
  • Architects customer layout(s) – Visio/CAD representation of cage design
  • Provides technical answers to customer inquiries concerning all Equinix products and services.
  • Partners with Customer Care team in supporting certain post-install events (e.g. customer tour certification, audits, etc.) and advising customers on Equinix policies and procedures.
  • Travel as and when required (approx. 10%)
Skills:
  • 1-2 years customer facing experience in related industry desirable.
  • Experience working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Prior experience in a similar pre-sales role a plus.

  • Creation of business proposals in line with agreed customer needs and expectations.
  • Proficient interpersonal and relationship building skills – professionally communicate and interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge and use of related business software applications desirable (e.g. Visio, CAD)
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Education:
  • Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in computer or engineering related field.
