Our client is looking for an experienced Sr. IT Project/Program Manager who will work closely with the Sr. Director, Technology to implement project management governance and methodologies that strategically align with business priorities. This position will define and maintain project management standards, governance, processes, implement, and administer PPM tools, as well as handle project work as needed. The Sr. Project/Program Manager will act as a reference point for Program queries and information and will be the advocate for best practices in project management. Person in this role provides effective leadership, development, coaching and guidance to a cross-functional team of Project Managers and has overall responsibility to ensure successful delivery of all managed programs/projects.
Establish, maintain and refine project and program methodology for delivery of company initiatives, including Project Governance processes, standard tools & templates, financials, risk management, project/program status communications. ● Ensures adoption and implementation of project and program management methodology and oversees project and program management training, coaching, and awareness ● Provide direct guidance on project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting. ● Develop project metrics and feedback measurements to ensure professional delivery of projects according to best practices, standards, and proven methodologies. Define and maintain key performance indicators for delivery and drive improvement strategies. ● Support strategic planning processes, including portfolio roadmap, prioritization, and budgeting ● Responsible for PPM Tools implementation, enhancements, administration, maintenance and training needs.
Oversee IT activities to ensure projects are high quality and delivered on time, in scope, within budget, and meet business objectives. ● Oversee med/large projects from initiation to completion and provide leadership and mentorship to other project managers and IT teams to execute projects, promoting high performance culture across entire IT team. ● Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels ● Provide leadership to drive continuous Improvements in IT project management related operations
Skills & experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related technical field required ● Experience implementing or re-establishing Project & Program management best practices within enterprise level organizations ● Solid understanding of, and experience with standard project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile and PMBOK tools and techniques ● Understanding and experience using Project Management tools ● Demonstrable ability to establish and enforce effective Project & Program Management strategies, methodologies and processes ● Excellent proven Leadership and Relationship management skills as well as the ability to manage and motivate direct and indirect reports required ● Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills with ability to conduct presentations comfortably to large groups and senior leaders is required ● Experience in multi-vendor eco-system with ability to manage conflicts/escalations ● Experience in managing enterprise project portfolios and multiple, concurrent projects ● 10+ years of Industry experience ● 5+ years managing a Program or leading multiple projects ● Experience with ITSM principles and methodologies ● PMP or PgMP Certification is a nice to have
