Associate Lab Assistant
Location – 2375 Progress Drive, Hebron, KY 41014
PPE – general Lab required PPE, Masks required provided by lab
Schedule – Monday-Friday 8-5pm 40 hour/week
Duration – 6 months (1/16/23) Possible Extensions
Pay – $20/hr

The Associate Lab Assistant must possess the knowledge and ability to work with our senior staff to process samples, perform tests, as well as record and analyze results. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of lab procedures and understand the importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following all lab regulations for health and safety. These activities are performed in compliance with industry regulations, site operating procedures, quality and safety policies, cost and established time standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare samples for testing using various laboratory equipment.
• Run PCR Tests
• Maintain all laboratory records.
• Comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations.
• Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, and document findings.
• Performs maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Demonstrates outstanding work ethic.
• Basic skills in MS Office and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science.
• Aseptic Laboratory experience, preferred.

Physical Demands
• Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time, ascend and descend stairs.

Working Conditions
• Clean room; Receiving and Labeling; Controlled Rate Freeze; Materials warehouse

Potential Hazards
• Position requires handling blood and blood products, working with LN2 freezers, working with large LN2 vapor phase storage tanks. Working with electricity.
