Job description:
The Digital Marketing Specialist (Web Operations) will help build, maintain, and enhance HSA BANK's marketing websites and marketing services portals, leveraging an industry-standard Web Content Management System (Web CMS). You'll partner with marketers, designers, product managers, and developers to enhance HSA Bank's brand, drive digital experience, drive high-quality leads, convert prospects into clients, and accelerate online engagement. The candidate will join a team that plans and owns production work for a cohesive customer experience with a primary focus on HSA Bank's public content websites.
  • Define, support, and build web pages using a variety of software applications, techniques, and tools based on requirements, translating content into corresponding templates.
  • Support user interface features, site animation, and specialized functionality (e.g. calculator web apps) that have been previously designed and built
  • Review elements of site design from a human factors / user experience (UX) perspective to ensure maximum usability and alignment with the company's overall objectives.
  • Propose both visual and technical enhancements to the CMS then review and revise page builds
  • As part of phased roll-out, provide support with building pages and following web best practices for other marketers to leverage a web deployment process – to review and publish pages built on distributed authoring model.
  • Give feedback as needed to pages/templates that need to be reworked, Support development and maintenance of CMS documentation for teammates and marketing teams
  • Support and maintain digital standards (ADA conformance, etc..) and methods for SEM/SEO/Analytics.
  • Monitor and analyze the response to/effectiveness of web marketing portals.
  • Study the needs/preferences of current and potential customer users; recommend and assist with implementation of changes to current internet marketing strategies.
  • Support identification of new trends, and formulate new approaches
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required (Web/Interactive Design, IT, Digital Marketing, Marketing or Communications)
  • 3-5+ years of experience with at least 1+ years of experience publishing content via a Web CMS (content management system) [Sitecore preferred, but alternatives such as WordPress, etc. are equivalent experience]
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS principles
  • Strong computer/technical skill and ability to quickly master new software
  • Demonstrated understanding of web best practices, site optimization, and landing page conversions
  • Strong analytical, and process skills with an eye toward detail as the last stop before pages and sites go-live.
  • Open on the full time side as well, if the candidate is the right fit they will convert.
  • Technical skills – key thing that they screen for is ideally someone that is familiar with custom HTML from web design perspective. Highest level is mid-level, does not need to be a custom HTML expert. Low/entry-level would also be acceptable if they have other skills that could round it out.
  • Web roadmap, developing own template system, can be trained by team to help migrate existing content over form current public website into a template system. People that have background with wordpress driven site or similar. WIX, squarespace, etc.
  • This person would not develop templates, but would be working within template system. Experience working with HTML to fix issues like formatting etc. nice to have.
  • Sitecore experience would be a plus but not required.
Familiarity in working within certain process constraints of content, understanding how to break up content to make it more web friendly. Any background that candidates have with content curation, migration projects (migrating from custom layout to template) would be helpful.
Healthcare insurance/financial services industry experience would be great. Not required, but ideal for long-term/conversion fit.
From manager: (above notes are from my scoping call with them)
  • Custom HTML web coding skills.  Ideal – mid-level experience but ok to have lower level skill and familiarity because of what we'd be asking the person to do
  • Biggest screening is whether they have experience working in a template-driven web content management system(CMS) and the constraints associated with that process
    • Sitecore is our Web CMS – that is ideal but not required, but if they have familiarity with it or a full wordpress site that is a key criteria to ask about
      • Lower level, more locked-in template systems like WIX and Squarespace are also acceptable experience
  • Aside from that technical fit, then project skill for screening is someone who has worked through a migration project – helping teams move from custom html to more locked-in web templates
    • They can be trained on our tech environment but this skillset of doing the content mapping and then the ultimate migration would be a key skill
