System Engineer

Pay Rate : $ 53.57 /Hour
 Make independent, creative, and technical contributions to installing and managing system or server configurations and providing maintenance to ensure the integrity of the operating environment (monitor performance, predict requirements, implement changes, etc.).


Duties & Responsibilities:

1, Configure, monitor, test, and modify system software and utilities to optimize performance of systems.
2. Identify, determine the root cause of, and correct instances of server unavailability.
3. Monitor performance and capacity using available tools.
4. Execute portions of complex change and develop implementation plans.
5. Adhere to problem and change management policies.
6. Contribute to system life cycle planning initiatives.
7. Be available for on call job rotation.
8. Work collaboratively with all IT functions.
9. Assist with SFTP partner file exchange setup
10. Assist with SSO setup and issue remediation
11. Update and install CERTs, working with business partners to ensure accuracy.


Education & Experience:

* 2-4 years of professional IT experience.
* Solid understanding of current/planned system service levels and disaster recovery procedures.
* Progressively responsible experience with mainframe and internetworking architectures in a production data center, or supporting a major operating system in a full scale, large volume production environment.
* Familiarity with security protocols
* Working knowledge of SFTP transfer protocols, SSO, SQL server, Window server
* Familiarity with AWS concepts

REMOTE -

ON-shore is best as there is only limited work to be done during off hours.
The person needs a reasonable level of experience with server support and application support. They may be assigned some "simpler” tasks like setup of SFTP file transmission accounts with our external business groups, SSO setup, CERT renewals, server vulnerability remediations.
Additionally, this person my be asked to be in the on-call rotation. Off hours calls are not significant, but we need more people to provide this type of support. Other assigned duties will be related to specific projects, tools, applications that need setup/configuration work.
