Clinical Scientist III

Location: South San Francisco, California
Seeking a Clinical Scientist with substantial drug development and clinical trials experience to help contribute to the late-stage clinical development of treatments for neurodegenerative disorders. The position will involve being the lead clinical scientist in an ongoing autosomal dominant Alzheimer’s disease study.

Title: Clinical Scientist or Senior Clinical Scientist, Neuroscience/Neurodegeneration
Hourly Pay Rate:  competitive rates/dependent on experience 
Schedule: Part-time/ 20 hours of the week 
Contract Length: 14 months (W2), potential for extension/conversion pending performance
Remote but with Locations- USA (South San Francisco), Switzerland (Basel), United Kingdom (Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire) 
 
The Clinical Scientist/Senior Clinical Scientist will act as a clinical representative on a number of cross-functional teams responsible for the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of study data as well as planning and implementation of a new study. This will require close and frequent interactions with a number of other functions including operations, biometrics, safety, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and a variety of business and commercial functions.
 
  • You represent clinical science in the cross functional study team and provide scientific leadership to the study team in various forums (team meetings, meetings with vendors, investigator meetings)
  • You review and monitor incoming data regularly to ensure accurate, clean data for iDMC meetings and in preparation of database lock
  • You drive the development of the study amendments (or new protocols) and consent forms
  • You assist in preparation of the scientific content of regulatory documents/interactions
  • You ensure GCP and Standard Operating Procedures are followed
  • You ensure correct data interpretation including interim and final study reports before they are approved
  • You will have close and frequent, but remote interactions with other members of the global team located in South San Francisco, the UK, and Basel, Switzerland.

  • Candidates must have experience working on multi-functional global development teams
  • Candidates must have experience in drug development within the biopharmaceutical industry and/or prior experience in running trials in the Neurology space
  • Candidates must be able to evaluate, interpret & synthesize scientific data, and can verbally present and critically discuss clinical trial data in internal and external meetings
  • Must have excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
