Sr. Lab Equipment Technician

The Senior Laboratory Technician will support D&O Optics Laboratory operations in the maintenance, calibration and repair for all equipment and support systems within AR/VR. 

Working alongside lab users, scientists and engineers, this individual will facilitate operations and work with procurement to ensure hardware and supplies are readily available as needed while supporting tasks systems and additional business and communication tools.

Required Experience: 
  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant/similar role and experience in a lab environment
  • Familiarity with a broad set of laboratory equipment - optical, metrology, reliability, testing
  • Experience with laboratory workflows and a solid mechanical aptitde
  • Strong operational skills
  • Ability to interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings
Preferred Experience:
  • Maintaining optical metrology equipment - spectrophotometer, interferometer, confocal microscope, MTF testing or reliability testing equipment
  • Familiarity working with Lasers, UV, X-ray, and other hazardous sources, and their Safety Protocols.
  • Machine shop skills and knowledge of proper applicable safety practices.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Monitor general Lab Supplies and maintain backstock for quick deployment.
  • Assemble, maintain, repair and move Lab Equipment and Furnishings.
  • Be aware of safety issues that could arise and notify the proper teams if non-compliant action items are identified.
  • Document and Track details of Lab Equipment including Location, Facilities, Warranty, Service and Maintenance Contracts, and special requirements.
  • Routinely monitor air quality of clean spaces and determine sources of contamination.
  • Assist the D&O Optics Lab Equipment Manager as needed in day to day operations.
