Position: Ran program Manager
Pay: $114.05 an hour
Contract: 8/03/2020-1/29/2021 (possible extension)

Duties:
  • Support TIP Access Network Programs on coordination of field/lab trial projects with wireless network operators and other service providers in the region
  • OpenRAN trials in DRC, Mozambique, Ireland, APAC (Q2 to Q4 2020)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams inside to track and report on connectivity goals across a portfolio of trials and activities including network planning, technology pilots and network deployments
  • Manage day to day execution of trial programs, agreeing plans with partner and FB stakeholders as necessary
  • Integration and trials via TIP PG
  • Trial activities supported by TIP/FBC
  • Ensure program risks are fully understood and documented and that mitigation plans are put in place.
  • Provide detailed documentation of learnings from deployment process to be shared with FB/TIP community as necessary and if agreed with partner.
  • Interaction with OEM and SW/HW vendor partners as required for purposes of program schedules, architecture review, technical specifications review, rapid prototyping and/or product demo
  • Hands on approach to trials getting involved with tests, debugging issues, and contributing to frameworks
  • Provide software review and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.
  • Full review of trial budgets with recommendations on areas for efficiency and improvement feeding into future trials
  • Support TCO analysis exercise for OpenRAN - gather the input from analysts reports and consolidate the outcome for reporting internally
 
Skills:
  • 10+ years of experience executing wireless network infrastructure strategies, solutions and/ or deployment plans.
  • Knowledge of wireless access industry, business, technology (2G/3G/4G/5G), regulatory environment and current challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple wireless access industry entities simultaneously, including operators, OEMs, suppliers, etc.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams. Develop and track project progress, RACI and granularly report the progress to all key stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong Project Management skills.
  • Ability to develop budget requirements for complex network rollouts. Demonstrated P&L responsibility with budget tracking and management.
  • Awareness of mobile industry business development trends as well as an understanding of mobile network economics
  • Detailed knowledge of cellular base station equipment - (2G/3G/4G), LTE advanced, radio access networks, Radio unit, baseband functionality
  • Ability to analyze and understand network performance results from network trials.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. Strong Project Management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20%. International travel is required including trips to London and partner trial locations
 
Preferred Skills:
  • BA/BSc/BEng or higher in an Engineering field or equivalent degree/experience
  • MBA is desirable but not essential
