JOB DUTIES:
  • Develop and review optical thin film deposition processes to meet requirements and specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to resolve technical issues, perform troubleshooting and characterization of coating processes.
  • Manage defect issues, implement root cause solutions, and continuously promote and implement process improvement, quality and cost performance.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of optical metrology testing, spectrophotometry, ellipsometry, interferometry, photometry, absorption and environment testing.
  • Support the team with process documentation and formalize work instruction documents supporting the coating process and characterization.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in multiple conventional thin film deposition technologies (thermal and electron-beam evaporation, sputtering, chemical vapor deposition) and thorough understanding of the physics and practical mechanics of these processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in coating mass production and record of successfully transferring products into high volume manufacturing.
  • B.S./M.S. in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Optical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience of thin film software such as Essential Macleod, Optilayer and TF calc, and high-level knowledge of optical thin film design.
  • Strong hands-on experience in characterization of coating performance and good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge and experience on hard/dip coating and roll-to-roll coating is a plus.
