Our protoline systems team is responsible for defining, implementing and supporting a growing and evolving infrastructure, capable of supporting a variety of complex device FATP builds. We're looking for an engineer with a mixture of technical and collaboration skills, comfortable defining/developing/deploying/supporting a Data Warehouse infrastructure and reporting ecosystem. The successful candidate will possess deep technical knowledge with the ability to discuss, and apply, technical solutions to current/future business challenges.
Protoline Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities
Responsible for the design, development, deployment, support, monitoring of protoline systems, and affiliated network infrastructure
Drive scalable, highly available and performant service deployments for core functionality on the protoline line, such as Active Directory, BitLocker, MySQL, Hive, Symmetric DS, AWS, and custom-built our client's IT applications
Understand/establish actionable KPI/metrics/dashboards for measuring/monitoring success and performance of services. Assuring availability, scalability, stability and security for existing and future deployments
Develop strong partnerships with other Facebook teams, ensuring seamless delivery at multiple protoline sites
Drive priorities and schedules influenced by impact, and business requirements. (Ability to influence the right decisions)
Collaborate with software and data engineering teams, ensuring application environments and infrastructures adhere to multi-site configuration best practices, and are appropriately optimized
Integrate security into all layers of the environment in order to protect sensitive data stored on systems at third party sites, and cloud environments
Ensure excellent support, stability and maximum uptime for protoline systems and network infrastructure across geo-dispersed sites, and cloud environments
Foster and maintain cross functional relationships with both technical and non-technical resources, focusing on data driven decision making
Communicate timelines, service dependencies, resource constraints and progress with key stakeholders quickly and effectively
Domestic and International travel required: up to 20%

Required Skills:
5+ years of Systems Engineering experience with Windows and/or Linux (must have experience w/ command line or bash scripting!)
5+ years of coding experience with Python, PHP, C/C++, JavaScript
Experience building/maintaining services in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCE)
Experience with networking principals, firewalls, load balancers
Familiar with version control such as (Git, Mercurial, SVN)
Understanding of server hardware and sizing, hypervisor technologies (VMware ESX/ ESXi/ vSphere), cross-platform integrations (i.e., heterogeneous operating system support)
Ability to troubleshoot and reverse engineer services, and solutions, quickly

Desired Skills:
3+ years of experience with containerization such as Docker / Kubernetes
Past experiences with MES and ERP systems is a definite plus
Database experience with SQL/no-SQL (MS SQL, MySQL, Redis)
Experience with configuration tools such as (Chef, Puppet, SCCM)
