Nanofab Process Engineer

Job Duties
  • Transfer and optimization of process recipes, designs, and operational methods to pilot tools
  • Development of processes on one or more of the following tools/sectors: Front end cleaning/prep, litho, deposition, etch, imprint and metrology
  • Optimize processes to achieve necessary repeatability, cycle time, yield and capacity to meet planned goals and milestones
  • Work closely with the research staff to identify optimized tool and material pathways
  • Establish relationships with tool and material suppliers enabling pilot-scale fabrication
  • Build collaborative relationships both internally and externally to support research initiatives
  • Develop SOPs and train technicians in the proper and safe use of sector tools
  • Support daily and weekly PM activities
  • Support equipment engineering with repair activities
  • Perform design of experiments (DOE) to quantify process window
  • Identify key process metrics and control methodologies to maintain process health
  • Document and monitor all necessary process characterization and control data
  • Use formal problem-solving tools to drive continuous improvement in process capability and to identify/implement root cause solutions to deviations
 
Required Skills
  • Intermediate-Senior level engineer with 5-7 years of experience in the Lithography space (this can be a combination of industry and academic experience. For example, a candidate with 2 years of industry experience and 3 years of academic experience in the Lithography space)
  • 3+ years experience in nanofabrication production environment
  • 3+ years in a clean room environment
  • 1+ years of experience conducting process engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Design of experiments (DOE) methodology
  • Data analysis experience and familiarity with analysis software(e.g. Jmp, MatLab, Tableau, Excel, MiniTab)
  • Problem solving and continuous improvement using formal tools (fishbone diagrams, 8D or model-based problem solving, statistical process control (SPC)
  • Ability to accurately document procedures and experimental/process data
  • Ideal candidate’s background will have an emphasis in patterning and Lithography
  • This can include: Photo Lithography, Ink Jet Lithography, Nano Imprint Lithography, etc.
 
Nice to have Skills
  • Understanding of optics and associated process
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt
  • Coding and scripting experience (e.g. SQL, Python, Java, HTML)
 
BS or Masters in material science, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics or equivalent field
 
Languages: English( Speak, Read, Write )
