Job Description:
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our AR/VR experiences team. This team is responsible for exploring the potential of virtual reality's role in the future of social media. We are designing new ways for people to connect, explore and share using the unique qualities of augmented reality and virtual reality (ARVR). Our goal is to launch experiences that put people first and introduce how virtual reality contributes to a more open and connected world. This SDET will be developing test tools and scripts to assist in manual QA. The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree with 2+ years of experience in a coding related role, as well as proficiency in two or more of the following: Python Java or C# Javascript PHP or Hack C/C++ SQL.

  • Developing test tools and scripts to assist manual QA
  • Work with engineering to understand area in technical depth to improve testing
  • Working with Oculus Quality leadership and automation infrastructure to determine solutions to challenges and best practices
  • Writing automated test cases within existing automation infrastructure
  • Reporting and tracking bugs found by automation
  • Modifying existing automation to fix errors and yield higher signal
  • Experience developing test tools that have markedly improved QA workflow
  • Experience developing automated tests that have replaced manual testing
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to more junior staff
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple efforts simultaneously
  • Ability to ruthlessly prioritize tasks to ensure high-level team goals are accomplished
  • Experience with a test automation framework (Selenium, Appium, etc)
  • Proficiency in two or more of the following: Python Java or C# Javascript PHP or Hack C/C++ SQL
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong deductive reasoning, understanding of the software development process and excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field and 2+ years experience in a coding-related role OR Bachelor's degree in any field with formal coding training and 4+ years experience in a coding-related role
