Community Integrity encompasses a number of teams responsible for preventing real-world harm where Facebook is used as a means to attack victims. Working on Community Integrity is about having positive, real-world impact. The Integrity Review Platform data engineering team, within Community Integrity is responsible for building the centralized data services and visualizations that enable our Global Operations team to efficiently and accurately enforce Facebook’s Community Standards at scale.
The Global Operations team reviews more than 25MM reports from users every week in more than 30 different languages, requiring our data engineering team to partner closely with Product Leaders, Data Science, Software Engineering and Global Ops teams to determine ways to improve the efficiency of our human review operations – all of this using massive amounts of data. As part of the IRP data engineering team, you will influence the development of new products while building a scalable data foundation.

AN AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
YOU'RE AN EXPERT IN:
  • Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.
  • One or more programming languages (ideally Scala or Python).
  • Building analytical Data Products.
YOU'RE COMFORTABLE:
  • Actively mentoring team members to effectively collaborate and communicate complex technical concepts to a broad variety of audiences.
  • Designing and Building Modern Data Pipelines and maintaining data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures and relational/non-relational databases for data access and Advanced Analytics
​AND YOU HAVE:
  • A Software engineering mindset and ability to write elegant, maintainable code, and follow engineering best practices.
  • An analytical mindset to understand business needs, and come up with engineering solutions that scale to answer broad problems across the organization balancing complexity and simplicity .
  • Excitement to step outside of your comfort zone - exploring new tech, tackling hard problems that others struggle to solve.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 4+ years experience in the data warehouse space
  • 4+ years experience working with either a MapReduce or an MPP system
  • 7+ years experience in writing complex SQL and ETL processes
  • 4+ years experience with object-oriented programming languages
  • 7+ years experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • BS/BA in Technical Field, Computer Science or Mathematics
  • Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write)
