Job Summary
  • Our client is hiring a contractor to provide internal communications and content support for a global operations team that supports ground-breaking research and innovative technology. We are looking for a highly skilled professional with strong verbal and written communication skills and project management background. This role will build an internal communication program that affects our employee base including our onboarding and Employee Experience, emerging technology, and office site programs.  We are looking for someone who is highly invested in internal communications and content and deeply understands employee audiences.
  • In this role, you will partner across disciplines to understand our work and how we have conveyed information historically to identify areas to improve. Establish appropriate audiences and calibrate our communications so that they are effectively understood across a complex organization. Communicate across email, chat, FB groups, printed posters, and digital dashboards. Build standards for teams to use as they build PowerPoint decks for internal presentations, design posters for communicating internal events and milestones. You will impact our culture with the power of thoughtful communication.
This role is remote; however, the homebase will be located in Seattle, WA. once in-office activities resume.

  • Build and implement internal communications plans for employee experience and operations initiatives across a 9,000 person org.
  • Partner closely with Operation pillar teams including an in-house creative services team to produce successful internal campaigns for various initiatives, programs, and launches that impact employees.
  • Support Operations leadership reporting program that is proactive, mindful and built for impact.
  • Monitor internal social pages for employee sentiment, comments, and questions.
  • Collaborate with employees to craft communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Manage the cadence and timeliness of comms through an editorial calendar with a perspective of openness and usefulness
  • Manage the Content Project Manager.
  • Provide writing support, feedback and general guidance.
  • Attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with managing projects end to end, including logistics, messaging, and execution.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and to work autonomously.
  • Experience working on a team and communicating to all levels of the organization.
  • Experience writing and turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content.
  • Experience in solving problems using judgement and analysis, providing practical, timely and proactive communications guidance and support.
  • Experience building internal employee communication campaigns is a plus.
  • Writing Sample
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years professional experience working in corporate communications, political campaigns, or nonprofit mission-driven communications.
