Position Overview: 
Department - 
Oncology Biomarker Development
  • We seek a highly motivated and capable Research Associate to contribute to oncology biomarker research efforts in support of the company's drug development pipeline in hematologic malignancies.
  • The candidate is expected to work as part of a multifunctional team and will support development projects by performing assays for sample testing.
  • The Research Assistant will also conduct experiments to incorporate and standardize new assays under supervision.
  • This individual will handle biohazardous, cytotoxic, and radioactive materials and be expected to adhere to corporate safety standards in all aspects of the work.
  • They will use automated liquid handling systems and robotic systems, and will analyze data and report results using specialized software in multiple assay methodologies.
  • They will maintain GXP compliance, as appropriate, in supporting clinical and nonclinical studies, and will apply thorough and accurate documentation skills.
  • At least 2 years of lab experience, preferably in a testing environment.
  • The RA will have proven technical expertise in handling, processing and culturing a variety of sample types, including whole blood, bone marrow, cell lines and single-cell suspension from tissues.
  • Ability to design and execute development and validation of 8+ color flow cytometry assays is essential, and experience with higher complexity assays is preferred. 
  • A strong proficiency in manual gating approaches such as FCS Express or FloJo is desired. 
  • Experience with nucleic acid extraction and molecular biology techniques like PCR, etc is also preferred.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, implement, and become proficient in novel laboratory techniques is expected.
  • Experience applying analytical skills and judgment in assessing the quality of assay data and assay performance strongly desired.
  • The desired candidate will have a basic understanding of immunology or cancer biology.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and meet timelines efficiently and productively.
  • Strong verbal communication, writing, and listening skills, as well as interpersonal skills required. Industry experience preferred but not essential; clinical lab experience and GXP knowledge a plus.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences or Chemistry
