Job Responsibilities:
  • Support D&O Optics Laboratory operations by maintaining, calibrating, repairing, and servicing all Lab Equipment and Support Systems within the AR/VR D&O Optics Group
  • Assist Optics Lab Users, Scientists, and Engineers with their needs to facilitate successful utilization of the Optics Lab Equipment
  • Document, verify, and ensure alignment of accurate equipment needs from the group of Scientists and other Lab Stakeholders
  • Work with Facilities, Procurement, and Finance to ensure lab equipment hardware and supplies are readily available as needed to support Lab Operations
  • Coordinate with Facilities, Building Contractors, Vendors to ensure alignment and completion of Lab projects as needed
  • Work with the Optics Lab Equipment Manager and Procurement to ensure equipment maintenance and calibration contracts are in place where appropriate
  • Be aware of safety issues that could arise and notify the proper teams if non-compliant action items are
  • Assist the Optics Lab Equipment Manager as needed
Required Skills:
  • 3+ years’ experience in a relevant role as an Sr. Equipment Technician or Equipment Engineer
  • Experience running and maintaining a Lab
  • Familiarity with a broad set of Lab Equipment (not limited to optical, metrology, reliability, testing, etc)
  • Hands on assembly, disassembly, in possession of a strong mechanical aptitude and capable of troubleshooting complex electromechanical assemblies with emphasis on applying safety standards to ESD sensitive electronic equipment
  • Ability to interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings [Architectural, MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing), parts]
  • Good documentation skills related to inventories
 
*Must Have: Associates Degree or higher in applicable field
 
Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write)
 
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with maintaining optical metrology equipment such as a spectrophotometer, interferometer, confocal microscope, MTF testing or Reliability Testing Lab Equipment
  • Experience installing equipment
  • Familiarity working with Lasers, UV, X-ray, and other hazardous sources, and their Safety Protocols.
  • Machine shop skills and knowledge of proper applicable safety practices.
  • CAD drafting experience in one or more programs like SolidWorks, N.X, Autodesk, Inventor.
  • Experience Vizio and Microsoft Project
