Location: Piscataway, NJ
Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Pay: $16 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Clinical Intake Coordinator will work with the clinical teams to efficiently complete intake of new injuries reported by employers, employees and clients. Responsible for covering the toll free telephone line to receive inbound calls from employers, injured employees, and clients. Provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks under the direction of the Workers Compensation Intake Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Telephonic intake of Workers’ Compensation injury information reported from employer, clients and injured workers including accurate and efficient completion of work injury interview questionnaire.
  • Direct treatment to network providers under the direction of a Nurse Case Manager, Claims Adjuster or Certified EMT.
  • Accurate reporting of State specific Workers’ Compensation First Report of Injury (FROI) or the customized First Accident Report (FAR) if required by Client.
  • Scanning, faxing and/or emailing of FROI/FAR according to client needs.
  • Assist with clerical duties for the department including faxing, creating charts, filing of medical documents and charts, entering and transcribing medical notes from providers under the direction of nurses and adjuster.
  • Purging and organizing charts for archiving.
  • Scheduling appointments with network providers and sending precertification letters under the direction of the Nurse Case Manager and Medical Adjusters.
  • Obtain notes and information for Nurse Case Managers and adjuster.

Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Nurse Case Managers to identify and anticipate problems or questionable cases related to injuries reported.
  • Assertive and positive work style and the ability to think critically.
  • Time management and organization of work functions when balancing a high volume telephonic reporting system.
  • Excellent communication and people skills necessary to effectively work with network provider staff, interview injured employees and to work with the nursing teams.
  • Ability to use critical thinking and to anticipate problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Well organized and use time efficiently and effectively to accurately coordinate scheduling correspondence and the intake process.
  • Computer skills, keyboard knowledge and Microsoft Office; Word and Excel.
  • Medical office clerical experience

Education:
High School Diploma Required, Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
