Job Summary:
The Neighborhoods Work Environment Program Manager is the single point of contact and primary owner for integrating the social, technology and space work-streams (including design and construction) for regular and prototype projects. Prototypes are experiments with different office solutions, as well as new lab and plant settings. These projects demand new approaches and strategies to meet the business objectives of the sponsoring SVP/VPs.

The NWE Program Manager ensures the objectives and standards of the NWE program (as defined by the head of NWE) are upheld as they partner with the Business sponsor and cross functional core team and internal delivery team. The Program Manager must be able to frame decisions and recommendations for the team and holds the ultimate decision making authority for the project. They must drive results, meet deadlines, and deliver projects with grace under pressure while building trusting relationships. Program Managers will typically lead 3-4 prototypes simultaneously. 

Specific responsibilities 
  • Creates the master schedule and project plans to drive the physical space and socio-tech delivery for multiple prototypes. Each project may consist of multiple organizations, represented by VP sponsors and VP/Sr. Director client leaders.
  • Structure with the Social lead the core team and internal team to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and an efficient and effective process from kickoff through close out.  
  • Develop and frame content, and facilitate core team meetings. Customize approach as needed to fit the leadership style, culture and communications/work practices of the business sponsor and client leaders. Critical decisions and investment decisions are made during these meetings. Projects typically have a $2M-$10M capital budget.
  • Apply the NWE program standards to the client’s business objectives, work practices and goals for the new environment. Partner with Social Lead, Planning Managers and the Communication and Technology Leads to ensure readiness and adoption is weaved effectively through the lifecycle of the project. Partner with WE Work Environment Analytics team to understand trends and insights from the data and apply learnings and interventions to next generation prototypes.
  • Ensure effective engagement with the Business Sponsors, Client Leaders, and HR and IT leaders for all key project activities, such as physical design and floor layout choices, technology choices, and the development of neighborhood agreements and working flexibly guidelines.
  • Ensure communication and engagement forums such as manager kickoff and readiness meetings, participant overview and move meetings are effective.
  • Be a thought partner and subject matter expert in NWE with client leaders and business sponsors. Be a role model and catalyst for navigating complex change. Co-lead with client leader the Advocate team to build engagement and adoption deeper in the participating organization. 
  • Collaborate with Design and Construction and SS&P as well as other internal/external delivery partners (including architects, building services managers, ergonomics experts) to ensure all deliverables are met and to build effective, trusted relationships.
Qualifications 
  • 15 or more years relevant business experience, with strong program, change management and customer relationship focus. Ideally, they’ve led an organization.
  • Experience leading large scale change implementation projects, ideally changes from traditional to more collaborative work environments.
  • Experience managing projects with both commercial and scientific populations—as well as office and lab-based employees.
  • Knowledge and experience in patterns and evolution of social practices and technology choices as it relates to collaboration and future of work. 
  • Able to influence and gain credibility quickly at both the senior leader level and within the organization. Gifted relationship builder. 
  • Skilled at presenting complex and/or new ideas with clarity and simplicity to executive (SVP, VP and Sr. Directors) and broad employee audiences. Exceptional at anticipating needs, innovating, and thinking creatively “in the moment”.
Education:
  • BS/BA in Social or Physical Sciences (i.e. Architecture, Design, Engineering, Psychology, Organization Development) or Business.
  • MBA preferred.
