Payroll Specialist

The #1 catastrophe and large loss claims management firms in the industry are currently hiring for a professional with strong Payroll experience, proficiency in Excel, and excellent verbal and written communication skills to join the team.

JOB SUMMARY:
  1. Process payroll and provide administrative support to the human resources department on all personnel matters.
  2. Workday Payroll administration preferred.
  3. Ability to use Excel to the extent they can sort, lookup, manipulate information and analyze/ interpret the information. Excel is used heavily to mass load into Workday Payroll.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer all functions of payroll process and time/attendance system
  • Assumes responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of payroll tasks
  • Generate payroll reports as needed and/or requested
  • Processing all child support and health care orders, garnishments and levies
  • Accurate and timely completion of federal, state and local documents relating to tax filings not handled by ADP
  • Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions
  • Files all personnel papers and documents into appropriate employee files
  • Functions as a liaison between vendors and associates
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures in Human Resources
  • Resolving employee inquiries related to payroll as they arise
  • Achieve departmental goals and performance standards
  • Communicate to management any workflow problems, issues or backlog immediately

EDUCATION:
  • BS / BA or Equivalent Work Experience
EXPERIENCE:
  • Requires 2+ years of proven Workday payroll processing
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Understanding of Federal and State tax guidelines as they apply to payroll
  • Computer literate in Windows environment with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
