IT Delivery Manager II
Engagement Description: (Agile Coach)
Location: 441 E. Jefferson, Detroit, MI

Perform coaching, training and guidance to newly formed Agile project teams (and extended team stakeholders) who may have little to no Agile experience. Additional engagement responsibilities will be to utilize ideas out of project retrospectives to support process improvement initiatives. General support for the efforts of the BCBSM Agile Community of Excellence to extend Agile practices throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Coaches the team, Scrum Master, Product Owner and other related leaders on Agile principles (e.g., collaboration, transparency, inspection and adaptation)
  • Guides the team and organization by modelling Agile practices and methodologies
  • Initially leads daily scrums, sprint reviews, and planning meetings in a way that ensures full team engagement; set example that Scrum Masters should exhibit
  • Coaches team to raise and work to remove impediments
  • Fosters close cooperation across all team members, roles and functions; encourage cross-training and supporting each other
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration inside and outside the team; hold team members accountable to exhibit behavior consistent with team norms
  • Inspire excitement within the team for the use of Agile
  • Help advance the goals of the Agile Community of Excellence (Agile CoE); includes development opportunities for people, processes and tools

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using Scrum or equivalent Agile methodology
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as either Scrum Master, Product Owner or equivalent Agile functional role
  • Agile experience across multiple clients/companies and/or Agile project teams
  • Demonstrative expertise on Agile values, principles, functions and roles.
  • Must have knowledge of standard Agile functions and Ceremonies including but not limited to: Scrum Planning, Story Mapping, Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Up, Backlog Grooming, Sizing/Agile Estimating, Review/Demo, Retrospective
  • Must have knowledge of standard Agile techniques for identifying project deliverables and measuring team performance including but not limited to: Product Roadmap, Release Plan, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Sprint Goal, Kanban/Task Board, Burndowns, Burnups, Velocity, team norms, impediments, team calendar
  • Experience training Agile concepts and methods to project teams and stakeholders
  • Experience coaching and evaluating new and existing teams in starting and maturing their agile journey; support project roadmap execution activities beginning from project start through execution of Sprints/iterations
  • Experience validating criteria for project selection, identifying success metrics that should be tracked relative to each project, and analyzing the project selections against criteria and success metrics
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Agile engineering practices (e.g., Behavioral driven development (BDD), Code refactoring, Pair programming etc.) preferred
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Testing and Deployment automation (e.g., Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing) preferred

Education requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required

Certifications:
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), certified Agile/Scrum coach or equivalent preferred
  • Scrum Alliance recognition of certifications required (or equivalent Agile certifications from Agile organizations)
