This position will support patch cabling between equipment and customer's network, power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet; installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment; Install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge router/switch, etc.); Re-format and overwrite the hard drives of computer components; Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels; act as interface between customer's associates and management; rack, stack and power-up of new equipment and replacing existing equipment; provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure; perform onsite call-through, data, voice, website and security testing; perform back-up testing to ensure all systems are connected to the customer's network as directed; support carrier testing of circuits; Assist with power and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) restoral, water problems, emergency cooling restoration, fire suppression exercises, restoration post fire events, and humidifier emergencies; Support inventory management activities that include, but are not limited to: receiving inventory, tagging of assets, tracking spares (crash kits), ordering inventory, updating inventory records, repair/return equipment, and prepare equipment for shipment; Act as an interface, as needed, between associates at the applicable location and centralized project / operations / MAC management. Coordination services will be provided 24x7; Coordinate with and support other third party vendors (e.g., telecommunications, wiring, distributed antenna solutions, WAN/LAN management) in compliance with customer's requirements.
Must have a strong knowledge in working with direct DC power, including measuring DC power levels, correct tightness in foot pounds for bolts connecting to the DC power bus, as well as anti-oxidization chemicals to be placed on DC power connectors.
Requires appropriate equipment and training with high speed fiber optic transport, the ability to clean high speed single mode optical connections, the ability to measure, transmit and receive high speed optics and the knowledge and experience to work safely with high speed single mode long range optical lasers. Must be proficient in utilizing technical tools such as Sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.
Requires experience in working in a data center and communications closets, specifically in performing rack and stack activities, patch cabling, equipment installation, break fixes, troubleshooting and inventory management.
Experience and Education
3-5 years of experience in data communications Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco switches and routers Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
High School Diploma required

Candidate could work one of two shifts, the site hours of operations is from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Willing to work off shifts, weekends – a must as there could be overtime and weekend work.
