QC Lab Technician

​12 hour shifts required (5am-5:30pm) including every other weekend.
Perform testing on coatings and other urethane products. Tests required include viscosity, sag, color, % moisture, potlife, shore A/D, etc. Use of MS Office Suite and SAP required for communication and data entry. Basic product quality troubleshooting necessary.

Job Title: Quality Control Technician 1 Reports To: QC/QA Manager Number of Direct Reports: 0 FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Summary: Provides QC laboratory support to manufacturing on a day-today basis. Duties include testing product, recording and reporting results in applicable systems, interfacing with production personnel and plant management, and basic troubleshooting on batch quality issues. Duties and Responsibilities: • Performs QC testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods • Maintains retrievable and traceable system of quality documentation and related items including Certificates of Analysis (COAs) along with inventory control samples. • Cleans and maintains the lab equipment and physical lab space. • Maintains formula integrity and creates lab batches as required by Research and Development and plant management. • Troubleshoots routine batch quality issues and reports results to process chemist, QC lead, or plant management as necessary. • Provides some vacation coverage for the other QC Technicians. • Operate his/her area/function in accordance and awareness of Company Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) policies. • Must understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2015, RC 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities. • Ability to push, pull, lift up to 30lbs • Other duties as required. Experience: 1-2 years of manufacturing experience (urethanes manufacturing highly desirable) and/or relevant laboratory experience preferred. Education: HS Diploma REQUIRED
