Netwrok Engineer 2 - New Orleans

 Description:   Network Engineer will provide technical support to both internal and external customers in an on-site environment. The applicant must fully understand networking, and a working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX; wide area networking such as Frame Relay, ISDN, PPP, HDLC, RIP, RIP-II, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP-4, as well as multi-vendor networking products and protocols. Engineer will be required to install and troubleshoot hardware, software, UPS's, and other network related equipment. Candidate must be able to interpret/utilize network analysis tools such as, Protocol Analyzers, Client, LAN analyzer or network general sniffer. A working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, UNIX, DNS, and internet services is required.  VoIP networking experience is a plus.
The position is within a 24 X 7 X 365 environment, Engineer will provide service derived from incidents, problems, changes, and service requests and will be responsible to provide answers to customers' inquiries concerning system software and hardware applications. Provide assistance in both network design and implementation, while maintaining written documentation for all projects. Position requires the candidate to be multi-task oriented and will be responsible for working on several projects simultaneously under the supervision of senior engineers and management.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service and satisfaction skills, while promoting the ability to be a team player.  Applicant must be familiar working in Microsoft Office environment, and have good oral and written communication skills in the English language. Heavy lifting is required.
Applicant must be willing to continue to develop their technical expertise as a major goal and pursues competencies through vendor and industry training, including on the job training with senior engineers; and develop technical skills and stay current on product features.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
•             Associate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
•             Cisco CCNP or HPE Accredited Technical Professional (ATP) Certification (minimum)
•             Working knowledge of ITIL concepts; change management, configuration management, incident/problem management
•             Training on networking tools (Network Analyzers, Sniffers, etc.)
