Build Technician

As a member of the Systems Test Fixtures Group, the Build Technician provides logistical support for the Systems Test labs as well as hand on assistance for engineers who build test fixtures. The successful candidate will manage day to day operation of a multi-use test lab including, test assets, tools and space usage. Additionally, strong hands on and technical skills are needed to support building prototype systems and building, debugging and running test fixtures as needed.
• Maintain a test lab and test equipment
• Manage day to day use of space by multiple project groups
• Provide hands- on mechanical and electrical support for engineers building, operating and maintaining test fixtures
• Assist with a wide variety of testing needs
Essential Functions and Duties:
• Maintain clean, organized lab(s) facilities
• Track and organize usage of space by multiple projects
• Track and organize tools and equipment
• Work hands on with engineers to support the building, operating, and maintaining of test fixtures
• Mechanical assembly
• General wiring
• Interfacing with software and data logs
• General debugging of fixtures and tests
• Perform general product testing

Skills Required:
• Proficient with MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment where program plans, authority and responsibilities are ambiguous at times
• A strong desire to learn
• A strong attention to detail
• Strong, natural mechanical aptitude
• Proficient with mechanical and electrical tools used to assemble and update electromechanical systems (e.g. common hand tools, multimeters )
Desired Qualifications:
• Lab management experience
• A background in the Mechanical and/or Electrical field
• Experience with electromechanical assembly
• Machining and/or woodworking experience
• Familiarity with LabView interfaces and Jira a plus
• Experience with document creation in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Windows Operating Systems
HALT experience a plus
Associates degree or equivalent relevant formal training
