Inventory Specialist I

Responsible for accuracy and quality of inventory cycle counting process and associated documentation. Responsible for inventory count accuracies and ensuring inventory is properly labeled. Provides training and leadership related to inventory control and maintenance. Resolves inventory issues related to inventory inaccuracies, transfers, issues, and re-class processes. Responsible for inventory processes in assigned area of responsibility. Performs and leads inventory cycle counts while reconciling cycle count discrepancies and variances within established performance characteristics. Ensures materials are in proper locations and conducts searched for misplaced or misclassified materials. Verifies material quantities and ensures proper documentation of the quantity on the container. Reports discrepancies of materials variances and identifies root cause of discrepancies while driving process improvements. Maintains familiarity of inventory and inventory locations in order to identify methods to improve WIP tracking and cycle count accuracies. Highlights areas of concern associated with inventory accuracy and provides facts surrounding the root cause for loss or gain of materials. Responsible for documenting data for cycle counting process transactions. Maintain open lines of communication with other departments and personnel. Observes all safety requirements in a manner that maintains a safe work environment. Other reasonable tasks as assigned. All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position.

Inventory Control knowledge including inventory transactions and cycle counting knowledge and experience. Knowledge of SAP. Familiarity with GMP's a plus. Effective verbal and written communication. Well organized and detail oriented. Computerized experience with ERP/MRP systems, word processing, spreadsheets, project management, etc. a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook required. Proven time management skills. Ability to be a flexible team player. APICS certification a plus.
