UX/UI Designer

PPG's Digital Center of Excellence is looking for a digital designer with a focus on user experience. The designer is responsible for dictating data-and-research-driven user experiences that will enhance an external customer's satisfaction, pleasure and loyalty, while meeting internal customers' objectives.

The UX Designer will work with project managers, customers, data analysts, developers and other designers to create functional prototypes for our new and existing websites. The wireframes will be used for user testing prior to development, to ensure the client's expectations are met prior to design, and for estimating UI-design, content and development efforts. The wireframes will define things like visual hierarchy, navigation, form validations, transitions and animations.
The designer may also help to define UX processes and workflows, working with the website analyst to craft data-driven decisions and ideally building a content-first prototyping process before design and development begin.

Lastly, the UX Designer will have more-traditional digital design experience to help with day-to-day design tasks like creating social media posts, creating assets for websites, and potentially handling a website's UI.

The UX Designer should require little guidance and work under minimal supervision.

• A Bachelor's or Associate's degree
• Knowledge of UX best practices
• Strong working knowledge of UXPin and/or Axure or equivalent prototyping software
• Ability to write UX-related content for prototypes
• Strong Photoshop experience
• Knowledge of web design and aesthetic design concepts
• Ability to effectively participate in teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in audience-appropriate terms
• Ability to work without close supervision

• Having the ability to prototype with HTML and CSS is a huge plus
• Experience writing protocol and/or facilitating in-person moderated user testing sessions
