We are partnering with a growing client in search of an experienced Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator role within this organization is an all-encompassing IT role that requires supporting any areas of IT.  You will be responsible for implementing  IT related projects, supporting IT security audits, managing routine and non-routine IT operational tasks including, Tier 2 support of all desktop software, operating system, and remote access issues escalated from the help desk/systems analyst. Major responsibilities include, providing hands on support to company’s IT infrastructure involving servers and network with implementations, changes, maintenance and troubleshooting. As well as providing  direct hands on support to users who are experiencing desktop operating system, connectivity and application issues.
 
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a position with diverse responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Manage hosted infrastructure in physical and cloud environments for USA business units
  • Manage local infrastructure including servers, LAN and wireless networks
  • Manage Active Directory Domains for USA business units
  • Coordinate  and executing  annual Disaster Recovery test
  • Coordinate and performing monthly patching of servers in all environments
  • Provide necessary support with IT audits including PCI, SOC1, HIPAA, CMR
  • Update IT Policy and Procedure documents, Business Continuity Plan documents annually
  • Complete  annual security questionnaires from clients
  • Complete planned IT infrastructure changes and upgrades
  • Create SOPs for task repeatability and documentation
Provide support to Systems Analyst and helpdesk in the following areas:
  • Manage  and support user end-points, e.g. laptops, Surface, n-Computing terminals, printers
  • Manage and support user accounts in Active Directory, Exchange
  • Provide support with File Share use and managing security
  • Provide support with online-meeting platform (GoToMeeting)
  • Provide support for end-point security, PGP
  • Provide support for VPN access
  • Manage Building Access Cards
  • Provide support to install/update/modify custom applications to end-user PCs as needed
  • Manage network cables and phones
  • Manage local LAN: Support Websense, document network switch ports and communicate the necessary changes to networking team,
  • Manage wireless access points and wireless controller
  • Manage Building Security System with security company
  • Manage ordering process for software, hardware, and support as applicable: get multiple quotes, prepare POs and obtain approvals, place, receive and disburse items as applicable
  • Manage IT asset inventory
  • Work on rotating basis for after-hours support including but not limited to patching maintenance and software release support
  • Create and communicate systems and application standards
  • Create and maintain systems documentation for testing and validation
  • Perform software distribution and patch management to Windows desktops, and laptops
  • Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and provide timely and clear
  • Update
 Skills and Qualities:
  • 5-7 years of IT infrastructure support and experience in a fast paced professional environment
  • Experience managing Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, Windows Desktop OS
  • Experience managing LAN and wireless network
  • Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, Remote Desktop, Terminal Services, Firewall, TCP/IP, IIS, Certificate Services
  • Experience in Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in end user support and strong customer oriented mindset
  • Ability to self-govern without intensive oversight - must be a go-getter and take initiative on a regular basis finding ways to avoid problems proactively rather than just fixing them after the fact
  • Excellent communication skills
 Education and Caertifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred. Can be substituted by equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft certification is a plus
  • Network certification is a plus
