Job Description:
The Operations Center is responsible for supporting several large government customers. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for responding to customer inquiries via telephone and e-mail in a computer industry environment, including remote vendor support. Support responsibilities include domain management, operating system, computer hardware, and peripherals including satellite communications equipment and network equipment.
This successful candidate will be providing system administrative support on Sun Solaris, IBM Blade servers, Personal Computers, and various network devices. Support includes, troubleshooting server and network connectivity issues, coordinating system upgrades, installs and general maintenance activities. Monitoring multiple network infrastructures and performing preventative maintenance functions.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with Sun Systems and/or IBM Blade, including comprehensive knowledge of HW, SW, Operating Systems, SNMP, Network Operating Systems, LAN/WAN is required.
  • Experience with providing desktop support with knowledge of Windows Active Directory, SCCM and Remote Desktop tools.
  • Experience interacting with customers/users, support technicians, depot personnel, and other team members on projects; individual must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the aptitude to manage a networked UNIX and/or Windows environment using NFS, TCP/IP, and FTP.
  • Skills to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco IOS network devices such as routers, hubs, switches, and modems.
  • Understanding of Solaris UNIX and RedHat Linux.
  • Understanding of computer virtualizations, a plus.
  • UNIX script, C and C++ programming a plus.
  • Meteorology background helpful.
  • Available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
