Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for finished goods inventories of assigned products for the US CPO. This entails working with the business on developing the demand plan for different products and ensuring suppliers adhere to the defined supply plan. The Supply Chain Planning Manager is the primary interface for communication of supply plans, bottleneck management, and critical supply issues with key internal and external stakeholders.

Major Accountabilities:
  • Take ownership for maintaining appropriate levels of inventory supply to meet sales plans and financial targets;
  • Establish supply plans for different vendors and ensure plans are communicated and priorities are known;
  • Work closely with different departments, Manufacturing sites, External Supply Organization, International Trade, Warehouse, Quality and other functional departments to support execution of supply plans and meet customer service target;
  • Identify potential supply constraints based on forecast and sales; evaluate options with supplying sites to identify any trade-offs and make recommendations;
  • Communicate and escalate quickly and effectively regarding any issues which may impact financial targets and/or the ability to supply to the patients;
  • Manage the risk of obsolescence, identify, define and follow the corrective actions;
  • Facilitate timely resolution of supply issues by working with technical and quality resources;
  • Ensure Working Capital targets are met for inventory;
  • Actively participate in Sales and Operations (S&OP) process. Provide necessary reports and analysis needed to enable the S&OP process;
  • Maintain planning data and parameters in the Material Master.

  • Number of associates:
1-2 in department with similar responsibilities
  • Financial responsibility:
FG Inventory responsibility of > $1.5 billion US.
Sales support of > $9 billion US.
  • Impact on the organization:
Significant impact on financial performance of assigned brands and availability of critical/ life saving products for patients. Actions and decisions impact working capital, obsolescence, and sales support of assigned brands. Decisions have a heavy influence on the future of the organization. Errors would potentially result in expenditures of large amounts of Company's resources.

Ideal Background
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering or Operations Research Preferred.
  • APICS CPIM certification strongly desired.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years related experience in supply chain planning, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience working in a GMP environment.
  • 3+ years of experience working within a SAP ERP/MRP environment at an advanced level.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing principles and practices.
