Quality Control Technician

Duties: The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible to conduct inspection of raw and in-process materials, packaging components, and conduct final testing as required to support production at the Menlo Park Manufacturing facility.  The associated tasks are required to be performed according to approved methods and procedures in compliance with cGMP, FDA regulations and Corporate Quality Policies.
Including but not limited to:
  • Conduct testing and data collection, write-ups, documentation, and reviews necessary to support the release of raw materials, in-process samples/materials, packaging components, and final product. 
  • Conduct or support nonconformance investigations, and special projects as assigned.
  • Complete and participate in training activities which maintain or improve skill sets and practices.
  • Actively work in a team environment and participate in natural work groups and increase productivity.
  • Assist with revision or creation of SOPs.
  • Assist with method implementation and / or method transfer activities.
  • Candidate shall have knowledge and experience with ophthalmic implants and surgical equipment, or similar medical devices, and familiarity with their use, technologies involved, and risk management techniques.
Perform all other assigned duties as necessary
Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Control;
  • Preferred experience in at least two fo the following: Incoming inspection, in-process inspections, final/functional testing, engineering studies, protocol execution, non-conformance investigations, etc.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, goal orientated achiever with ability to prioritize and organize own work semi-independently.
  • Excellent problem solving skills including experience in technical writing.
  • Proficiency with written and spoken English.
  • Excellent organization and teamwork skills.
  • Required Level:  Associate of Scinece (AS) degree in Technical/Scientific or related filed from an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred Level:  Bachelor of Scince (BS) in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
