Cyber Security Specialist

Primary Duties:
  • Exhibits in-depth understanding of cyber security and technology.
  • Participates in the development of cyber security processes to apply industry best practices and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Able to handle multiple complex security assignments and projects.
  • Grasps new security concepts quickly; able to convey these in simple terms, using relevant and meaningful language within the group or during presentations to non-technical resources.
  • Identifies, clarifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to complex cyber security problems that require specialized knowledge.
  • Promotes adherence to security policies and standards.
  • Leads/participates in activities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards for Privacy and Data Protection/PII (Personally Identifiable Information).
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; possesses ability to produce high-quality project and process documentation.
  • Responsible for creating complex policy deliverables based on thorough understanding of current regulations, standards, BU/region, and technology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Three or more years of cyber security or IT related security experience (e.g. security engineering/architecture, security system administration, general system administration).
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • CISM, CISSP, CSSLP, CIPP, or GIAC preferred.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies preferred, such as vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, identity & access management (IAM), security information and event management (SIEM), virtualization, encryption, antivirus, firewall, remote access technologies, etc.
  • Familiarity with centralized security event logging across diverse operating environments (Cisco, Windows, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Experience examining, evaluating, and hardening IT systems in accordance with industry best practices and guidelines such as SANS, Center for Internet Security, NIST, etc.
  • Familiarity with patch deployment methodologies, applications, and process development.
  • Understanding of networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Windows, secure application development.
