Senior Systems Engineer

 Job Knowledge/Skills:
  • Related degree in computer science or electrical engineering and/or seven years equivalent data center engineering experience.
  • Solid understanding of data-center technologies including networking, storage, compute, and virtualization.
  • Design, implement, and support data center network, storage and compute in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Willing and able to perform physical rack/stack of switches, servers, routers, and similar devices. Along with cabling and labeling experience.
  • Must have a generic knowledge of system management best practices, monitoring, change control, etc.
  • Certifications in CCNA Data Center and VCP.
  • NetApp experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio is required
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Relevant network certifications (MSCA, VCP, etc.) preferred.
  • Cisco Data Center Certification (Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Design Specialist, Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Support Specialist, Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric Design Specialist, Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric Support Specialist or Cisco and NetApp Flexpod Specialist) preferred.                
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Design, implement, and support Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS), VMware, and storage.
  • Design and deploy data center hardware and software utilizing industry best practices.
  • Experience with documentation of design, system builds, configurations, and support procedures.
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Conduct research on data center products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the data center industry.
  • Oversee/perform new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
