The IT Engineer will spend most of his/her time managing and maintaining the operations of the IT department including all IT systems, networks, enterprise applications, security, storage, phones, etc. and configuring/installing upgrades as needed.  The IT Engineer will resolve escalated tickets covering a broad range of issues and coaching teammates with resolving their tickets as needed.
 
As the IT Engineer, you will: 
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate information technology systems operations
  • Administer, maintain, and perform upgrades as needed to IT systems and applications
  • Respond within defined SLA metrics to issues logged in the company ticketing system
  • Manage IT projects through to completion with the support of the team
  • Monitor, resolve issues and improve network and internet/intranet performance
  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related issues
  • Maintain data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity
  • Analyzes LAN/WAN and recommends upgrades/changes and security procedures and policies; assesses organization's current and future LAN/WAN needs
  • Work with vendors on complex problems
  • Assist with software and hardware installation, monitoring, security, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrade, and patching activities for:
    • Windows 10, 8, 7 client operating systems
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
    • Dell KACE
    • Anti-virus application and virus definitions
    • Adobe Products
    • Imaging
    • Network Access
    • VPN
    • Printers
    • Phones
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date licenses and hardware/software inventory
  • Maintain system documentation
  • On call rotation after hours for all equipment and software problems
 
Experience and skills required for success:
  • Bachelor's degree – preferably in a computer related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT including Systems and Network Administration and a deep and broad range of technologies and systems
  • Excellent analytical and problems solving skills with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, delays or unexpected events with little supervision
  • 5+ years of experience with IT technologies required in order to diagnose and solve problems related to the windows based infrastructure including network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VLAN, Routing, Firewall, VPN), Proxy, IIS, Windows based servers, etc.
  • Experience with Cloud and Virtualization technologies
  • Strong experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and resolving issues with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, MS Exchange, Office365, Hardware and software including mobile devices and Networking and connectivity issues
  • Experience documenting systems, system specifications and/or training material
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must show an affinity for learning new technologies and taking on new tasks
  • Positive, high energy attitude with a customer service mentality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
