General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Caring for two ventilated patients, initiating and titrating IV drips (vasopressors and sedation), Assist with intubations, line placement. Monitoring critically ill patients with primary diagnosis of sepsis, respiratory failure (acute and chronic), renal failure (acute and chronic), myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia.

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Phillips heart monitors, Epic (EMR), Pyxis, EKG machine, doplers.

Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Strong background in medical patients and critical care with the ability to be flexible, critically think and reason, team oriented, and personable.

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.

Shift or schedule requirements.
3pm-3am, three 12 hour shifts per week. Weekends is the greater need, 6 weekend shifts in a 4 week period. They would never work alone.

Floating to other units/departments.
Primarily utilized in the Medical ICU, and would float to the Progressive care (step down ICU) located on the same floor.

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
Medical ICU 24 beds, Progressive Care is 12 beds.

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.

Dress Code:
Caribbean blue scrubs. Jackets must be black, white, or Caribbean blue. Short sleeves or long sleeves may be worn under the scrubs but must be black or white.
