1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
The registered nurse is responsible to implement the nursing process within Sanford Health and the continuum of care. The nursing process is utilized to assess, diagnose, establish a plan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and document human responses to actual or potential health problems. This practice includes dependent, interdependent and independent functions.

2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) EPIC and Acudose – training will be provided during orientation process


3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Mimium of one year experience working in an ED with annual visits around 28,000 or higher. Trauma level III or higher experience preferred.

4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
TNCC, PALS, BLS, ACLS required

5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Shifts are 12 hours, every other to every third weekend. Shifts are day, evening, night rotating. Never work alone and no call requirement.


6. Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
15 bed ED with 4 fast track rooms and 1 triage area

8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 1:3, 1:4


9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Orientation with preceptor depended on years of experience and adaptability. Usually 3-4 weeks at 40 hr per week for experienced ED RN.
