Our client is a focused manufacturer of custom and standard instrument trays, cases and sterilization containers in Northern NJ. They are a provider to the medical device and healthcare industry for over 40 years and are approximately a $30MM company with over 30 employees. They are looking to hire full-time the sole IT support person for the company. - see job description below.

At least 3+ years' experience in system administration
Associate or higher degree in a related field
Experience with VMware and Hyper-V
Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a very limited basis

Operations and Support

- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.

- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

- Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.

- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.

- Provide Tier III/other support. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

Maintenance

- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.

- Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.

0 Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

- Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
Create and verify backups of data
Respond to and resolve help desk requests
Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
Review application logs
Install and test computer-related equipment
