Our client is a leading commodity trading and investment firm with headquarters in Stamford, CT. They are looking for a Data Manager to join their Data Science team.

Our client is building out a best in class data science platform as being on the forefront of data management and analytics is core to our investment platform. This role will be based in Stamford and report to the Global Head of Data Science. This position will play an integral role as the team assesses and implements new data management platforms. The role will assist with data architecture design and will have significant exposure to our Risk and commercial teams globally.

• Assess data management platforms and own RFP process
• Implement new data management system
• Manage end to end data ingestion process and publishing to investing teams
• Assess data inputs for errors and build out appropriate workflows
• Actively manage vendors and capture changes in data input proactively
• Properly prioritize data issues based on business usage
• Assist with data architecture design
• Ongoing management of data rules and workflows
• Assist with managing strategic initiatives around big data projects for commercial business
• Liaise with desk heads/PMs in order to gain an understanding of current data flow, data architecture, investment process as well as gather functional requirements
• Assess gaps in current datasets

• 3 to 10 years' experience with database management
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Mathematics, Business Intelligence or related field of study
• Prior experience with data management tools is preferred
• Prior experience with data extract, translate and load platforms is preferred
• Advanced Excel skills are required
• Experience in SQL is required
• Experience in Python, R, and/or Matlab is preferred
• Experience with Alteryx is a plus
• Passion for big data and data analytics
• Demonstrate interest in programming
• Interest or experience in machine learning/Artificial Intelligence preferred
• Prior experience in commodities is preferred
