IMMUNO-ONCOLOGY SCIENTIST
REDWOOD CITY, CA

Project Description:
The Immuno-Oncology Discovery group at in Redwood City, California is looking for a highly motivated research scientist with strong background in immunology to join a group of scientists working on development of novel immunomodulatory therapeutics for treatment of cancer.
  • Conduct cell-based immunoassays for screening therapeutic candidates.
  • Coordinate animal tumor models to evaluate efficacy of therapeutic candidates.
  • Perform immunophenotyping of human and mouse immune cells by flow cytometry to understand the mechanism of action of therapeutic candidates.
  • Work independently, analyze and present data at team meetings.
  • Write detailed protocols and maintain accurate and complete records.

Required Skills:
  • BS/MS degree in immunology or related field with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Recent graduates with experience in academic labs are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with immune cell-based assays (proliferation, cytotoxicity and ELISA) is desired.
  • Experience working on T cell immunology and/or myeloid cell biology is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in tissue culture techniques and immune cell isolation from whole blood and/or tissues is required.
  • Experience with multi-parameter flow cytometry (FACS) and data analysis software (FlowJo) is absolutely necessary.
  • Flexibility and interest in learning new techniques and skills in accordance with the research program needs.
  • Proficiency in scientific and data analysis programs including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism.
  • Position requires ability to independently collaborate across a dynamic scientific environment, therefore excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills are necessary.

This 6+ month position starts ASAP.
